BALKAN BANG! - ALBERTO CUSTERLINA

I wanted to point out that the book is BALKAN BANG! edited by Alberto Custerlina Group Perdisa WalkieTalkie in the series.

I've already put on the list for Santa. Visit the site

of the book where you can read some excerpts. Here's a preview from the card

of the book:

Serbs, Croats and Bosniaks together as nitric acid, sulfuric acid and glycerin, a Sarajevo trying to get up, like a boxer knocked too many times. Cedomir and Karel are two old criminals who would only keep the power, but someone has decided for them for another destiny. Emir and Lovro are two young cops who end up in a large criminal history and contours are unclear, a work which would have been happy out. Meanwhile, a secretary tries to draw conclusions, but it hurts the accounts, three twins and totally insane killer spread death, a woman ruthless and sadistic murders to collect revenge. And after all, a shadow could be anyone waiting patiently ...

Born on the brink of the Balkans, the Alberto quarantatreenne Trieste Custerlina novel begins with an explosive and unstoppable: the revelation of a narrator, and together, the new frontier of international noir.

IN DEFENSE OF "M-JOURNAL OF THE MYSTERY OF DEATH

The Yellow Rail supports the campaign in defense of M-JOURNAL OF MYSTERY public and the press release of its director:

"Hello. It 'just out of print the new issue of "M- Mystery Magazine", the mystery Italian magazine with nine years of business behind. This number, for factors beyond our control, may be the last. And in Italy no longer exists a publication like this, which is noir, thriller, horror and fantasy fiction with strong doses of a high level.

Per esempio, che una rivista di un certo successo di critica e di pubblico debba fare i conti with factors beyond the quality of the product, such as cost of living and global recession. For many magazines, the simplest solution would be to close. But when a publication is now in its ninth year of existence and has become a small but important point of reference for a certain kind of literature ... the answer is no. The new issue of "M-Magazine of Mystery," now in print, however, a prelude to a (temporary) suspension of publications and a change of direction: the variables do not allow the market to continue to send in a bookstore at a fixed price and cost "by review "a product with an adequate number of pages, not inflated advertising, no gadgets, full of fiction, essays and illustrations, and the fruit of long and laborious research. To continue at the same price, the magazine will be carried out only by subscription, and then rely on the availability and readers. The advantage for you and for us: 32 € for six numbers, the greater security of do not miss an exit, what has so far not easy given the unpredictability of the distribution library. At this time, however, do not have the mathematical certainty that all the readers of "M-Magazine of Mystery" will be converted into loyal subscribers, and so I can not give assurances that the magazine will continue to exist as a paper publication. But if you are among these potential subscribers or re-subscribers, mandate per favore un’e-mail all’indirizzo cappi@alacranedizioni.it o scrivetemi presso la casa editrice e sarete tenuti al corrente sugli sviluppi della vicenda."

the way to freedom '- DAVID L. ROBBINS

Beautiful book by David L. Robbins set in France a few days after the landing of the historic D-Day.

From the back cover:

'Load it, "A cry that became the motto of the Red Ball Express: for the American soldiers who had the task of transporting supplies to the front after D-Day June 6, 1944 meant turning the engines and begin exhausting marches in column, in any weather. They had "only" ride the trucks and deliver the materials. But Joe Amos, a young black driver of the transport battalion, it is impossible to keep away from the fighting to liberate France from the Germans.
The story of the heroic battalion is identified with the drama of a generation turned upside down by war: the racist fanaticism that is the subject Joe Amos has its counterpart in the power of Rabbi Kahn, a veteran of World War I on the trail of the missing pilot son: it will be a continuous battle with God, unceasing demand on the need for the carnage, but also demand for an uninterrupted grace and at the same time, forgiveness for killing. The liberation of Paris will coincide with the end of a ruthless traitor American named Chien Blanc, enriched with the black market. The destinies of these three men, meet, become the painful testimony of a story that no one has ever managed to explain really.

David L. Robbins , after a law degree, worked for some years as a lawyer. Then he devoted himself to writing fiction.

New adventure for the author Ted Bell. Her novels have anointed the charts as one of the most popular writers of modern adventures, full of spying, technology, exotic and exciting.

BG: Ho letto sul tuo sito che hai scritto per il teatro, la televisione e il cinema. Hai pubblicato 2 saggi sulla scrittura e 3 romanzi thriller/noir. Inoltre dal 1998 six entered the Order of Journalists and collaborate with various magazines. How do you reconcile all these activities?

EB: I have always been writing. I started writing dramas and film scripts and then, to live, I chose to put at the service of print media. In fact, the hardest thing was to reconcile the narrative with all the other kinds of writing. The pace of the novel and the story is very different from that newspaper article or film script. For this alternate times when I devote myself to novels or short story and others in which other types of writing take over.

BG: In your book The professions of writing the information for aspiring novelists, but also journalists, copywriters, translators, writers. Then you can live only writing?

EB: Yeah, sure you can live by writing. Most of the friends that I hold it with the pen. Perhaps it is more difficult to live alone novels. Although the authors know, even if not famous, who are maintained with the proceeds of their books. We should be clear about what it means to "live writing" ... maybe you do not buy the house on the White Cliffs of Dover, but you can pay you more rent than that dignity.

BG: What are the things in your work as a writer that you love and those you hate?
EB: To live all the lives I want. Playing in different roles. Inventing worlds, situations and atmospheres. The beautiful part of writing for me is this. I hate the show needed to follow the book sales.

BG: Let's talk about your novels. Happy hour is from the wrong and Female de Luxe. Only common denominator, the police inspector Maria Dolores Vergara. What you have in common with your character?

EB: Maria Dolores Vergara lives and works in Milan, my town, believes in truth more than justice, love be alone, always gives a second chance and is on the side of women. Angrily if necessary, but only when necessary. I am a bit 'so too. The rest is a blend of reality and fantasy that I observe.

BG: In 2008 you were a finalist for the Premio Award Serbanenco Azzeccagarbugli and now. A surprise or you expect it?

EB: I was a finalist dell'Azzeccagarbugli thanks to the votes of a panel of competent quality. An official confirmation of my work. From the wrong has not had an easy life. While it was appreciated very much, (it was among the twenty semifinalists Scerbanenco of 2007, that was a surprise), not everyone liked the same way. The final dell'Azzecca I reiterated and supported. And I did very well. Premium Scerbanenco this year has changed the rules. We are all in the race, so still no emotion. We'll see. However I do not write for awards, this I understand.

BG: Tell us about your latest novel de Luxe Male. How did the idea?

EB: Female De Luxe was founded by two female characters: Olga and Marta. Two very different women but obsessed by the same desire for perfection. The feminine aesthetics in the sense of aesthetic philosophy, are my issues this time.

BG:Come è il rapporto with your new publisher Perdisa Group Publisher?

EB: There is a new publishing house for me. I have already published two books with Alberto Perdisa. It 'was the first publisher who published my work. I was very young and he gave me confidence. The real news is the encounter with Luigi Bernardi. So I think that Female is a very significant point of my work.

BG: What would you like to read and what you refuse to pick up?

EB: I do not reject anything a priori. Usually I read the first things they do not trust to have a real opinion. Booksweb.tv to devour an impressive number of thrillers and noir, Italian or otherwise. Fun and indifference are the two emotions most often. But lately I've even managed to get indignant. I would say that I like the books are able to invade the reader and leave him something to bring. A phrase, a thought, an atmosphere, a story. Are not similar to the yellow rose of pure entertainment. Or manuals on how to ensnare men demented or rent houses.

BG: Recommend three books that you liked and which you believe should be there in our personal library.

EB: Among blacks, James Barlow, I'll be back soon, Sellerio. In the novels of formation, Simone de Beauvoir, Memoirs of a girl well, Einaudi (or any other of his), and among the latest releases Kafka on the Shore, by Haruki Murakami, Einaudi. But I could give you a different answer in a week ... beautiful books, past and present, thankfully, are many. Right now I'm re-reading the Wizard of Oz. Spirited.

BG: What are your future work in the pipeline?

EB: I'm finishing the fourth Vergani. And I have to write a couple of stories in two anthologies that seem very interesting. A short story is soon to be released instead for a collection of all-female Sperling & Kupfer.

BG: We are at the end. How to close this interview, the police inspector Maria Dolores Vergara?

EB: Probably off the computer, (she is decidedly less excited than me), hoping to have done everything possible to communicate to you the readers and how much passion is contained in his work. In this we are very much the same thing.

Thanks to Elizabeth for availability and for his wonderful books.
